THIS IS THE WEEK THAT WAS...

As usual, my BLOG is not inciteful, dynamic or earth-shattering. I don't, for the most part, delve into the news or politics of the day or try to set any agenda. What I do is tell everyone about my wonderful life as grampa', husband and all-around nice guy.And the reward for that kind of behaviour is that I got to spend time with Maddy this weekend!!! Since I was sick at Christmas I could not play with our newest family member, so this week I did my best to spoil her a bit.
AND ONE REASON FOR THE ROYAL VISIT WAS...Katie's birthday!! Happy birthday Maddies mom. Katie and grandmom Peg were headed back to Texas and made a point to stop in Atlanta on the way. Since aunt Sue had Katies name for this year we got to have dinner at mom and dad's on saturday. The photo is Katie modeling some of her birthday loot. And here is the birthday cake. It was a great party.
Just ask the mighty "M" and grandmom.AND SPEAKING OF BIRTHDAYS...
Katie's January 14th birthday was followed by uncle Denny on the 15th. He got a lot of nice gifts, including a haircut from Alice (along with a gift card) and some cash from his aunt Dolores. He used the cash to buy dinner at his favorite restaurant, S&S cafeteria.Of course his personal driver and valet were both invited. (That would be Granny and me). Denny has always been generous to the staff.
AND THE THUNDERING HURD VISITED...
...as usual for the weekend. And the cold weather made everyone want a blanket of their own to snuggle in while watching cartoons 24 hours a day.
ONE LAST ITEM...
I want to wish dad a speedy recovery after he slipped and cut his eye. He feels fine and was not really hurt too badly, but the small cut looked a bit tender the day after. Get well soon, dad. And please be more cautious in the future when there is ice on the ground.

Until next time; I'll be seein' ya'...

Nice blog. It was nice to have everyone (Peg, Katie, Maddy, Sue & you) visit and celebrate Katie's birthday. It was nice, but not hectic time. My eye is doing just fine, thank you
