AND OF COURSE WE ARE STILL SCOUTING...
Tree sales are over for the year, and planning has begun for spring break and summer camp. And, we believe we have set a record for food donations this year.
The guys stacked and packed all this food and delivered it to the local food bank. Those in need will be well supplied for a while with the estimated 1000 pounds plus! of food they gathered. Good work troop 129!!
THE EAGLES HAVE RETURNED TO WORK...
We spent this morning getting our latest Eagle off to a good start on his project. He is building an outdoor mmeting sight, with a deck, for a local church. There is a walking trail and some erosion control involved as well. And we started with a LOT of mulch!
The mulch pile was completely dispersed and a lot of erosion was stopped. Even the smallest scouts moved a lot of mulch, as Ian shows in this shot.
My siblings may want to take note of the background in the above shot. That is the back side, and athletic fields, at Shamrock middle school (formerly high school).THINGS ARE GOING WELL AT WORK, TOO... My group, and the whole division for that matter, finished the year well. We made our quotas and even beat a couple of them, so that was great! Here is a thermal control unit that I rebuilt recently. It was for our Mercedes headliner program. The units come to us in a much different condition, sort of like one of these. Adhesives and coatings are usually burned and melted onto the parts we have to rebuild. Once they spend a night in the burnoff oven they are much easier to work with. We are also responsible for a lot of other items that I will share later. Maybe in a future BLOG.
That's it for now. Until next time; I'll be seein' ya'...

Great to hear from you again!! It's nice when things are going well....except for the queen not wanting to pull her weight around the house!!! LOL :( Keep loving those kiddies...they'll be grown before you can blink your eyes!!!
Talk to you soon.
Love ya!!
Always on the go. Keeps you young.
Sounds like 2009 is off to a good start!! :)
Your job sounds pretty interesting. One thing that has turned me off from several jobs in the past has been repetition... I hate doing the exact same thing over and over every day. There ceases to be a challenge after a while! Glad to hear things are moving right along.
I know what it's like to work with 'the queen'. She is also famous for 'you play my game first, then we'll play your game next'. Funny thing is, we never seemed to get around to my game... haha!
i LOVE YOU SWEETIE and you are a wonderful grandpa!
