Just some stuff that's going on...

Item one is, of course, the arrival of MADDY!! Congratulations Katie and Bryan; and Maddy, too, for that matter. Welcome to this insanity we call a family. I stole this picture from Peg, so I want to give her credit to avoid any copyright lawsuits. I think they make a fine family!!

And today was cleanup day...
At the scout hut. We had a small turnout, but the scouts who showed up did a great job. Aaron and freinds helped clean and prepare the hut for our big fall court of honor this week. The big grill was cleaned and oiled, and the whole pavillion was washed down, swept and organized.
They also pulled out all the tree lot equipment and got it organized for the upcoming sales season; just a few weeks until we get set up for this years effort. And they did a great job getting us ready.
Meanwhile, back at home...
We had a slight problem with Noah and his many "accidents". It seems that if you jump on the bed and hold the chain on the ceiling fan to make the lights go on and off, you can "accidentally" pull the chain right out of the switch. Imagine that! As part of his pennance I took Noah to the store and had him buy a new switch, with his own money. He also purchased a new pull for the end of the fan control chain. It seems that was missing from a previous "accident", a while back. He did a fairly good job of helping me install the new switch and pull. I should mention that cost was a bit of an issue on this project. Noah wanted to know if we could sell the old switch back to the store to help cut his cost on the new one. He also wanted to know how much he would be paid for helping to install the new switch!! 8 year old logic at it's best.

Upcoming holiday reminder... Eve is getting ready for halloween, and wants everyone to start now to have the best possible costume for the big night.

My birthday was a LOT of fun...

As a followup to my birthday, here are a few pix from that celebration. "Jim the Toolman" and his duct tape cake!! Thanks Victoria, it was very cool and very tasty!

I also got a nice card from Denny; and he stayed for a while as well!! It was a real party at that point!!!

And for the icing on the cake...

Victoria, daughter extrordinaire, and newly minted pastry chef, shared a few goodies with us today. These are some petit fors' that she prepared at her recent cake decorating class. I had a very nice white choclate treat and the rest of the family shared fruit flavored delights as well. Eve loved hers and shared with others. It was definately SWEET..

I didn't mean to run this long today, but I had a bunch of photos to download so I used a few.

Best wishes to Maddy and those two people she lives with!!

And just a note for Katie and Bryan; keep the fan switch chain away from Maddy, just to avoid "accidents"...

Maddy is a little darlin' princess. Love that photo. Noah is great at negotiation. Aaron did a great job at the scout hut and we are so happy to have him working with his grandpa Jim.
