MR. MONK GETS AN AWARD...

...Which he immediately returned. If you are a fan of MONK, or you know Denny, you are likely laughing out loud right now. I am certain that his sister, Victoria is getting a chuckle. His award was for being at the center for 30 years!!! He was ready to go home right after the presentation.
BIGWIGS AND TINY DETAILS...That is what made up the day at the Dekalb Services Center today. It was the 30th anniversary of the facility and they threw quite a bash. Including a rededication of the front garden to house speaker Tom Murphy and his gardener/wife.
This photo is judge Murphy, the speakers son, and his family unveiling the plaque and accepting the award.
THIS IS NOT THE USUAL ROUTINE...
... As anyone who knows Denny can see. Having mom and dad show up in the middle of the morning really confused him.
After he did his morning routine of setting out all the wheelchairs and walkers, things got confusing..
The staff moved everyting back inside and set up for the cerimony. Denny tried to re-stack the chairs and had to go back to his class for a while. Denny set back to work, but apparently bored his classmate to sleep.
SCATTERED, SMOOTHERED AND COVERED...
Before the days events, Granny Sue and I got to have breakfast together. Waffle House is the only place that comes even remotely close to the big breakfast she lovingly delivers every day. So Waffle House it was. Just being together for a while was the main thing, but those hash browns and grits made it even better.

A FOLLOWUP TO OUR PUBLIC SERVICE...

To round out our day, we took the time to drop by and GIVE BLOOD!!

Granny went for the "NUTTER BUTTERS".
I had OJ and got a T-shirt. We both got additional cool gifts for our donations.
I will let Sue tell more about the whole day in her BLOG, as soon as she can get online.
Be sure to give blood next chance you get. We all benefit...

The title is PERFECT! Just as Mr. Monk would wish. What a busy day and I'm glad you were able to accomplish so much! The photos are fantastic.

What a great day....I'm glad you and Sue got to spend the day together and with "Mr. Monk"...... If they would take my blood, I would gladly donate it, but alas, they don't want me!! I'd do it just for the Nutter Butters!!! LOL....Thanks for the great update. Love ya!!

OJ and a Tee-Shirt? I hope it is your size, remember, “If it doesn’t fit you must acquit.”
