It's Already September...

...and that means birthdays! Saturday we went to Mom and Dad's to celebrate Kelly's 21st birthday. Of course Mom cooked a GREAT dinner. The photo is not out of focus, Mom is just too fast to catch on camera! And of course, after dinner there was singing and cake. And a gift that keeps on giving for a now-legal adult young lady. Happy Birthday Kelly!!

Somebody Notify the Partridge Family...
Cause I think we found who painted their bus. Eve invited me along on her trip to Home Depot again this month for the kids workshop. The project was supposed to be a football goalpost, but Eve talked the nice lady into a birdhouse instead. Here she is during "The Build". When we got home Eve wanted to paint her creation, as she does with most of her projects. Only this time she insisted on "real paint, like on a real house", instead of her usual water colors from her paint set.I produced some small cans of hobby paint that is weather resistant and she set to work. Do not attempt to adjust your monitor, those colors are all correct. A green roof, blue front and yellow side walls. She told me she felt just like an artist.
And still more Eagle projects...
The project we were working finally finished up on Saturday. Edmond completed the wheelchair accessable area and raised planting beds at Denny's school. The pavers are level, solid and very attractive, don't you think? The tables will be lowered later, after careful, final measurements. As this one wrapped up, we moved inside to start another project. Andrew is remodeling the cafeteria at the school for his Eagle. He is on a very tight deadline since the center is celebrating a thirtieth anniversery on the 18th of September. The governor and other dignitaries are due to be there so he wants to be done in time. Today we cleaned and started painting.Next we cleaned and rehung the artwork that was looking a bit tired. The fresh yellow wall paint and the cleaned and refreshed artwork made the room feel much bigger and almost brand new. There are still doors, trim and new baseboard to go in, but that should go quickly.

What a couple of handsome guys...

... and both named Jim Towhey. Jimmy and I wanted to get on camera while we could at Kelly's birthday. I have seen the future, and it is - Jimmy.

Until next time, I'll be seein' ya'...
