... To make sure that the BLOGosphere (is that a real word?) is maintained.
We had a fairly typical weekend; Kids, commitments and a little bit of time together for Granny and me. I did have a nice surprise this past week that I would like to share.

On Tuesday night I was helping out with the troop, as usual. I felt a tap on my shoulder during the meeting, and turned around to see one of our former scouts (an Eagle of course) standing in the middle of the scout hut with a big grin. The above photo shows Clint (center of the group, in uniform) who was the visitor to the meeting.
Clint is a great young man who made Eagle back in 2000 and has done well since he moved on. He is an airline pilot with DELTA/NORTHWEST and is now based in Atlanta. The first thing he did when he returned to Atlanta was to show up in uniform and sign on as an assitant scoutmaster. He said he wanted to "give something back" and work with me. I was VERY touched!
As we caught up and chatted I was interupted again by a second former scout (yet another Eagle) who was in town before leaving for his senior year in college. He dropped by to see if things were going OK with the troop and ran into Clint. What a great coincidence!!
As we all exchanged stories and memories, a THIRD former troop member showed up out of the blue!!! This was amazing!!! I really had a great evening recalling old times and campouts from the past. The best laugh of the evening came when two of the guys realized that, according to the rules, they could actually lead a campout of new scouts without any of the other "leaders" from the troop. Scary thought!!! We all laughed at that one!
We also had a "lockin" or "overnighter" at the hut on Friday. Aaron and Michael were "in charge" of the event, and it seemed to go very well. The scouts camped on the rear lawn of the hut and then went on to a canoe trip down the Chattahoochee on saturday morning. The fun was non-stop!
Here is SPL (Senior Patrol Leader) Aaron, posing by the troop trailer.
On saturday we had a missionarry breakfast at our house and then Granny and Torie went on to a birthday celebration for Lani, a close family friend. I was tasked with keeping the kids at home; A major project, to be sure.
Later, Granny Sue and friends went to a play while the Taylors watched the Olympics at our house. I managed to finish a few projects around the house, but I took no photos since my brother does not appreciate pictures of paint drying. TAKE THAT BILL!!
Sunday, Sue and I went to visit her friend, Cathy, at her new home. Cathy has moved back from the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family and friends. We are all glad to have her back with us. Her new home is very beautiful indeed.
Thelma and Louise live!!
We had a very nice visit out in Walton county with Cathy and then we came home on Sunday afternoon to the grandkids and the olympics. I never got my sunday nap, but it was still nice to have all the kids at the house when we got home.
Well, thats about it for now. Until the next time; I'll be seein' ya'...

Isn't it great to see old friends who have moved on and made something of themselves. It sure must have a great day to see those former troop members again. Your weekends are a lot fuller than mine.
Love.
Great stories of the Eagle Scouts and their continued accomplishments! How fun to have Cathy back!
Show me hammering, show me sawing you can even show a little clean up but wet paint and dry paint look the same on film.
