Holiday Weekend...

...and it's good to be home. We have been watching the news about the evacuation of the gulf coast on TV and are amazed by the differences from Katrina. Our hopes are with everyone who could be affected.
In other news, we just got off the phone with Robin in Richmond and there is a new arrival there! Charles Caleb was born 3 days ago and is healthy and happy. Congratulations Robin and Nathaniel!!
This is Robin relaxing at our house during her visit.
And here is Cathy with me; and a prankster in the background! It was a very nice gesture for Robin to bring her mother back to Atlanta for a last visit. Cathy lost her long and heroic battle with cancer very recently, and we all miss her.
Eve really enjoyed helping with baby Sophie during the visit, she fed her and played with her. Eve is a good helper.
Since this is a holiday weekend I want to mention all the hard working folks out there. The democrats had their convention, and the republicans are putting theirs off due to the storm. All the police, fire and first responders are on duty for the duration. Thanks guys (Tom, Chris and Bryan) for working 24 - 7 so the rest of us can cook burgers and debate the upcoming election in peace and comfort.

Speaking of the election; How about that for a surprise!?! More about that in another BLOG.

And to follow up from last post. Here is Eve after her bike crash.

She laid it down in the driveway and got a small case of road rash. No permanent damage, but another life-lesson learned. Next post I will try to get a photo of the latest lost tooth.

Eve will be very much in demand this fall as a model for a halloween pumpkin...
