The World According to Eve...

In my last BLOG I mentioned that I spent some time with Eve. She is the youngest grandchild, and very independant. Last Saturday she was playing in the back yard and came to me to see if I would come play with her. I don't know about any of you, but when a precious 5 year old asks "Will you play with me?", I can't say no. So we had some fun.
As you can see we had a camera with us and decided to make faces.
Eve had been playing in the woods before she came to get me, and had taken her imagination to great length. She took me back into the cool, shady woods and showed me her "campfire". I think it is pretty cool, don't you?
The stone edge is to keep the "fire" from spreading. The berries along the right side are for dinner. She was very proud of her efforts.

Next, we took a walk around the block and finished up at the back fence of our yard. Eve loves to do this walk and have me lift her over the fence to enter the far reaches of the back yard, way back in the woods. She also enjoys the big "Y tree" we have.

Our last adventure came when Eve asked if we could go under the house and change the "Big square green thing" that is down there. I was a bit lost until I realized she was refering to replacing the air filter for the air conditioner. I retrieved a clean filter from the shelf in the garage and we went "down under" to the crawl space to get the job done.Indiana Jones never had an adventure like this!!!

Eve went in and helped me swap filters and change a light bulb. Then we wnt inside for fudgecicles. I want my sister to see that I really DO love my grandchildren; Even when I work them hard...

Wow, I remember when you moved into that house... in my mind's eye your backyard didn't even make it 10 feet from the back porch before it was a mess of brush! It's looking good. Glad to hear you had such a bold adventure.

Sounds like you had a really great time. It'll be a few years before I'm able to have that kind of adventures. I can't wait. Keep lovin them (even while they learn to work). ;) Love ya!!

Sounds like a fun day!! Kids have such great imaginations... It's a shame we lose that sometimes as adults!!

You have hunted dinosaurs with Aaron in the backyard and followed mystery clues with Rachel and looked for aliens with Noah and now Eve has her own adventures. Life is good.
