One item I wanted to share from a past BLOG was the celebration we recently attended for one of our troop members. Bob Moseby has been with troop 129 for fifty years this year, and we threw him a party! We held the event at a cabin in North Georgia and had a cake and a lot of food and fun. A lot of people showed up to wish the still active 89 year old well.
Next up is the troop. Aaron has moved over to 129 and seems to be pretty happy. He is a 13 year old Life scout and has his sights set on enjoying his time in the troop and making Eagle. I am very proud to have Aaron and his Dad with me in scouting every week.
Here is a snapshot of Aaron enjoying the troop swim night we held recently. He really enjoys the water, so swim night was a real treat.
And here we are working on an Eagle project for another scout. The project is to be installed at Uncle Denny's school when it is finished. Eagle projects allow other scouts to help and also gain service hours toward their own advancement.
This past Saturday I went along and helped out with the second phase of the project. The final result will be two wheelchair accessable planting beds for flowers and vegetables. The tables are almost complete and waiting at the scout hut. The second phase will be a solid base of pave stones for easy rolling for the students. Here are some shots of the first groundbreaking.
Obviously, Eagle candidate Edmond Williams takes the job very seriously. The name on the hardhat is "BOSS". He really earned that title. Aaron and Michael were in the mountains on a climbing/repeling trip with other scouts, but a little dirt got moved by some of the others.

I always know I'll have a good "read" on Sunday because that's the day you blog. I do miss your blogs, as well, when they don't show up!! Sounds like you are keeping your boys busy. Talk to you soon. Love ya!!
Great photos! Edmond's project looks like it is coming along really well.
Good to hear from you again. Looks like things are progressing nicely. Keep up the good work! You'll be at 50 years before you're ready!
