I also decided on this because so far this year I haven't been any farther than Athens, and that was for business.
I was scanning some more old photos the other night and found some car pix from way back when. So I have married the travel idea with cars. Here are a few travel questions to jog the memory of my siblings and extended family.
1. What was your favorite car?
(This does not have to be your best or most dependable car, just your favorite.)
2. What was your best (or worst) car trip ever?
3. Best "driving song" to play in the car?
4. Funniest/stupidist thing you ever did driving a car?
I will answer these to set the stage for the rest of you. Here goes:
1. My favorite car was my big, brown JEEP Cherokee. 390 V8, full time four wheel drive, 8,000 lb. towing capacity and a total ball to drive.
(No photo available, but here is another favorite from my past)

2. Best car trip ever was my 3 week road trip out west with my best friend Steve.
Worst trip was driving alone all the way to Jersey for Grandmom's funeral.
3. Got to be "Radar Love". Old and corny, but it WILL get you a ticket.
4. Forgot that my tailgate was down and backed into a post. Leaving a large round dent in the top edge and preventing the gate from closing and latching on my old yellow Chevy truck.
Some of you will recall sports cars...
Or maybe a muscle car...
Perhaps the family wagon...
But whatever you remember, share it and have a laugh. And please try to use "Futsala" in your posting for Bill's sake...

Let's see...
(1) I LOVE my Grand AM!! My daddy got it for me!! :) Maybe he'll upgrade now that I'm in need?!?! HaHaHa!
(2) Best roadtrip? I'm not sure that I have a "best", but all the ones from MS to Atlanta were pretty good...
(3) I like to listen to anything that I can sing at the top of my lungs when I'm on a long road trip...
(4) Does taking out a mailbox with the passenger side mirror count??
Great Pictures.
I'll post a response to this one when I dig out a few pics. I know this will be incriminating!
(1)I loved my VW BUG best of all. It was a fun car and we had so many adventures in that car.
(2) Best Road Trip - Every trip to see my parents in the "olden" days.
(3)So many songs are good to drive with - These come to mind: The instrumental "Green Onions" and the ever favorite "Born to be Wild."
(4) Hard as it is to believe, I was lost in the parking garage of the Westin Peachtree with my side kick Cathy and we could not find the exit. We drove up and down and up and down and up and down. We finally escaped through Valet parking with the help of the Valet attendant.
I love to sing out loud with all my favorite songs. That's what makes those long drives to and from work bearable.
1. 1981 Monte Carlo with the factory motor replaced with the 400Small block out of a 1973 Caprice. And the exaust system replaced shortly there after with a cherry bomb hammered into the "Y" pipe.
2. Worst trip was the ten minute ride from the Penny Arcade to the 26TH police district. Hand cuffed to a bench in the back of a paddy wagon.
3. Theme from Peter Gunn
4. Once executed a revrse "J" turn by cutting the wheel and dumping the clutch in reverse in a VW Rabbit. The manouver was successful but the passanger side wheels coming three feet off the ground was not part of the original plan.
