If I didn't mention it in an earlier post, January 15th was Denny's birthday. We all enjoyed a small party with our favorite rainman, even if he was more interested in a quiet day alone. I wanted to add him to a few postings now and then so everyone can see how well he is doing. I wish I aged so well...
BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE...
But from what I see on FB my cuzzin's up north have it a lot worse. But in true fashion they all seem to be weathering the snow storm with true pioneer spirit. I have heard rumors of warm breakfasts shared with family and crooked front walks, shoveled by good men. We also snuggled in to try and stay warm.
ALWAYS BUSY, ALWAYS FUN...
As usual, the first saturday of every month is Home Depot Kids Workshop. I accompanied Eve in the morning to build the project. For february she built a NASCAR display case for her awards. After our morning build we went to "WENDARBY'S" for breakfast. In case you are confused, WENDY'S and ARBY'S are owned by the same company. Our local ARBY'S remodled and added a WENDY'S franchise; Eve immediately named the new eatery WENDARBY'S. We had a good meal and a great time.
COMMUNITY SERVICE...
After my time with Eve, I swapped her out for some time with Aaron. Our scout troop is hosting a blood drive this month, and we went over to set up a sign to announce the event. We worked hard to move the lighted sign to the front of the hut, then Aaron added the message. If you are in the area, please plan to drop in and donate on the date noted.
While we were at the hut we also checked the repairs on the plumbing that I did recently, and then we installed a new (recycled) light switch and fixture.
By doing a large part of the work, Aaron has completed a good part of the HOME IMPROVEMENT merit badge. Afetr we finished we shared a quick lunch and installed new wipers on my JEEP. On the way home Aaron also filled the gas tank and cleaned the windshield. I think he is almost ready to start driving; his mom's car.
ALSO THIS WEEK...
I have been teaching the drafting merit badge for a few of the scouts. In order to complete the assignment they are supposed to visit and use a computer aided design (CAD) system. Michael stepped up to the task and invited the guys to his office to meet Dave Snow, a supervisor in his department. As the photo shows the guys had a good time, and Michael and Dave were very helpful with the lesson.
It is always fun to see what others do for a living, and to help young guys learn as well. I used to do design work on a CAD system for years and it was really cool to see the changes and updates that have occurred since my time.
TIME TO FINISH...
It is time to go help Eve and Granny with a school project ( they really need me in there), so I will go and see if I can help make a valentine mailbox from a simple shoebox.

You and little Eve Abrams there at The Home Depot. Thanks for being her armed escort to such events. The merit badges are so cool that y'all have been working on. I hope the blood drive goes well.
The Valentine's box looks fabulous. I see PROJECT VALENTINE BOX as the next reality show for you and Eve.
I had fun working with the guys on drafting. I'm glad they enjoyed it too.

me and my wife have been researching 2012 for about 2 years now and have allready started planning they say by 2010 you will see it in the sky and i think thats about the time we will have everything ready we are looking to start a survival group or if anyone else has one that we can join let me know ill check back later thanks
