WELCOME NEW YEAR, 2010...

HOLIDAY WEEK...
...between Christmas and New Year found me with some time off, and I chose to use it to good advantage. I gave one day to each grandchild, as a small gift to myself. Here they are with their version of "American Gothic".

AARON AND I...
...spent monday together and helped a few hardy soles close down the scout Christmas tree lot. We also had lunch together and shared some time at home. Aaron (2nd from right) is almost taller than me now and has a quirky sense of humor that is contagious. He plans to earn his Eagle in 2010.

RACHEL AND I HAD FUN, TOO...
We spent our day getting Grannies car serviced and Rachel even installed new wipers herself, with just a bit of help. We also shared lunch and Rachel did her usual magic by getting the largest, most gianourmous fries ever! This somehow always happens for Rachel and we always get a big laugh when it does. Rachel also enjoys time to herself with her writing, reading.

NEXT MORNING...
I traded in Rachel for Noah. Look out world! We went shopping and then did an oil change on my car. Noah even got his hands a little dirty in the process. We had fun at lunch and Noah really enjoyed some alone time with grampa'; and our cable TV. He also shared some time with Uncle Denny at the DQ.

EVE ROUNDED OUT THE WEEK...
with her New Year's "Eve" visit. She accompanied Granny and me to the doctor's office for uncle Denny's checkup. Next, we made a stop to give blood. She was very well behaved while I gave, and the folks there even gave her a few gifts. The photo below shows our (almost) matching bandages and matching shirts and bracelets. We also had fun with a tasty lunch at Arby's.

NEW YEARS EVE...
Was quiet, with only Grampa' managing to stay awake for the midnight change to 2010.  Eve was bundled up nice and warm with Granny on the sofa for the big event.
OUR NEW YEAR'S DAY PARTY...

was very well attended, with lots of fun and good food. Hopefully by now you have all recieved your e-mail with the chosen names for 2010.
That is about all for now. Until next time...
Here's wishing you a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous new year...

Sounds like you've been busy too! I assume Denny's checkup went well? I wish we could have been there for the New Year's Day party, but we DID receive our e-mail today. Happy New Year! :)

Thanks for having the kids over. The do like individual attention. Noah was so excited for the White Elephant part of New Year's Day. Thanks for everything!
