SNOW DAY...

As others have reported, we have had some very cold weather here. Yesterday (Friday) was cold enough that an icy layer covered a lot of the area, causing some travel issues.
We awoke to about 16 degrees and windy. I prepared to head into work, since driving a JEEP makes me invicible to all catastrophies of nature. I recieved a call telling me to sit tight at home because the company was not opening on time due to road conditions.  COOL! In the end, we never opened the building since most people called in unable to get away from home.
Here are a few pix from our day.
FIRST, AND MOST IMPORTANT...

Some people did show up for work during our recent cold wave. Here is my kid brother, Capt. Tom Towhey of Atlanta fire, doing his thing. This photo was taken by a reporter recently and shows what these guys do for a living. Hats off to Tom and Chris for their efforts.
Here is a dirct link to the story in the Atlanta Journal

MEANWHILE BACK AT HOME...

The hill on our streeet was pretty well iced over, but passable.

Our place was warm and snug. I was happy that I chose to add two layers of insulation to the attic this past summer, it really paid off.

... everything else got a coating of ice.

...but we were still open for business.

...as chilly visitors proved later that day.

...and into the frosty evening.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
...from our home to yours. Here's hoping you are safe and warm with your loved ones.
Until next time, I'll be seein' ya'...

Good blog. I waited for the sun to come out before I headed out. The back roads were icy bit the Hwy was good. Keep warm.
