SUMMERTIME ROLLS ON

...and we are enjoying ourselves. We have had vacationing visitors here from up north.

No, that is not the same picture twice, Sue wanted a picture with BOTH aunts while they were here!
TIME FOR FAMILY AND KIDS... Aaron and I packed up the JEEP and headed for the mountains of North Carolina this weekend. We joined the scouts at the tree farm where we get our Christmas trees every year. The weather was great and we enjoyed the high mountain tops and the work.Here is Aaron with two of his scout team mates using a measuring stick to gauge the size of trees and then mark and grade them. All told, we tagged about 475 trees for sale this season. The guys had a visit from some "locals" while we were working. They shared some apples with them. We also took in a few tourist attractions along the way.

Aaron is the one WITHOUT a fish in his mouth, but the bear would probably have liked a sip of the drink. ANOTHER EAGLE HAS FLOWN... Aaron, Michael and I were attendees at another Eagle scout court of honor this afternoon. The newest Eagle from our troop is Matthew, a fine young man who is looking forward to college next year. Congratulations! Our family was proudly represented at this very solemn and serious event, as this photo shows.

THE PROJECTS CONTINUE...

I have been pressing on with the painting and maintenence around the house. I am also building a new sign for the front lawn of the scout hut. Aaron and I will be installing it soon, in preperation for an upcoming event. We will chronicle this later, when it happens.
