A GREAT AMERICAN TRADITION...

CUB SCOUT PINEWOOD DERBY NIGHT... Our man Noah was ready with his entry, "The Milk Bone Special". He did a great job building his car, with a bit of help from dad.The other racers couldn't tell if this car was coming or going! Noah won a few and lost a few, but he DID have fun. Noah also had a few followers in the crowd. Here is a video with the Milk Bone Special in the near lane; watch close, Noah wins this lap!!

Perhaps there is a future in NASCAR for Noah; He loves to race, he is good looking, and the girls just LOVE him!!
THE FAMILY WAS THERE TO SUPPORT...Aaron was drafted by the cub leaders to help with the cars and track, he did a good job.
Rachel and Eve got there early and helped keep up with the different cars and racers.
And everyone sat together and cheered for all the racers.
AND THERE WERE AWARDS...One of the den leaders built these wall-hangers for each scout. They can hang their car on the wall in their room as a wonderful trophy. Noah got a special award for the "ruff-est" car design. But apparently, the best reward of the evening was cookies and juice. And... ...the love of family!
Great job all you cub scout racers! We all look forward to seeing in the troop in a few years.

Looks like a lot of fun!! It's so nice to see the whole family being supportive. You don't see that all the time anymore. I can attest that our family always did that growing up. Does anyone remember the Polar Bear soccer tournament?? I DO!! :)

There is nothing better than making something with the support of your family.

I think it's so nice that you guys can experience this fun time with the kiddies. I may just have to move to Texas (or wherever) when Maddy starts getting involved in things!! I absolutely LOVE the dog biscuit theme. We never thought of anything other than a wedge-shaped car..... we're such rules followers that we didn't even attempt to think "outside" the box...

And yes, Katie, I DO remember the first Polar Bear Tournament. Who'da thought it would get THAT COLD in Mississippi.....AND that your dad would be out of town on a Freezing Cold February Saturday!?!??!?!?!? Ahhhh....memories are such fun!!

Love to all and Congratulations to Noah for the RUFF-EST car!!!

Love ya!!

I just got one of my old pinewood derby cars back from my parents the other day. It was black and wedge shaped, and had the words 'Night Stalker' written on it with gold pain pen. It also had some decals for mobil racing oil on it.

I love the photos you have of that really fun evening. Any time we can be with family is a very happy time. Noah was so happy about his cars showing. Aaron was a great assistant to the racing crew.
