A Quick Update...

There has been a change on the work front...
Today I tendered my resignation with my current employer. I will begin my new job on Monday.
I have been increasingly dissatisfied with my position and have received no response from management or HR. I used a number of vacation days to set up interviews and succeded in landing a new position.
On Monday I will begin employment with Newco USA, a company that specializes in coatings and adhesives. I will be working in the applicator group, building and servicing precision, high-tech devices that apply coatings and adhesives.
I have also been informed that I will be asked to move up into the pump group and cross-train. The company has already stated that they expect me to move up quickly within the company!
Yeah, I'm nervous. But I am very excited! I am back into a technical discipline that I better understand, and with a growing and well organized company.
More later as I learn things myself...

Congrats on the move. I have always said if you hate going to work every day than it's not worth it at any price, however in our present economy just having a job is all you can hope for sometimes. It's great that you have this chance to make a change and I'm sure things will work out great. Good luck.

I knew you were unhappy with things at your old job, so I'm glad you were able to find something you like more. As Mike said, if you aren't happy, it just isn't worth it!! Good luck and keep us posted.

Love ya!!

I know what you mean about not being happy. I was unhappy in Orlando, and realized that I had 40+ years of work ahead of me still, so I took a massive pay cut and moved back to TN to pursue something better. Good luck, I'm sure it will all work out for the best in the end.
